Washington Winter Show 2024

11 January 2024 Dear Guests, As Honorary Diplomatic Chair I am delighted to welcome you to the 69 th edition of the Washington Winter Show. Since 1955 the Washington Winter Show has been raising money for charities serving at-risk children and families in the Washington DC area. To date the Winter Show has raised more than nine million dollars. This year the Show is proud to be supporting St. John’s Community Services, the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys and Building Bridges Across the River. I hope that you might take some time to learn more about these excellent charities and the important work they do. Throughout the show you’ll have the opportunity to see a wide array of antiques from all over the world, brought here from exhibitors based across the US. The items at the Show are a great example of how art can bring many different peoples and cultures together. The UK has a long history as an antiquing hub dating back to the London auction houses of the 18 th Century where numerous American works have passed through over the years. Our two nations’ shared appreciation for fine craftsmanship is just one of the many bonds that create the special UK-US relationship. Congratulations to everyone who helped to make this years show possible and I hope you all enjoy the 2024 Washington Winter Show. Karen Pierce British Ambassador to the United States 4
