Washington Winter Show 2023

January 12, 2023 Dear Friends: Welcome to the 68th annual Washington Winter Show! As someone who loves to mix traditional and contemporary interiors, I could not be more delighted with the theme of this year’s show: Curating from Classic to Contemporary. I look forward to learning tips for artfully blending past with present to reflect a style that is fresh and timeless! The organizers of this year’s show have worked tirelessly to curate a weekend of exciting programming. Friday’s luncheon and lecture with Ken Fulk, described by DuJour as “the man responsible for some of the world’s most talked-about events and interiors” is sure to be a hit. Equally exciting will be Saturday’s design panel with designers Robin Henry, Laura Hodges, and Nestor Santa-Cruz, moderated by design guru Tori Mellott. The Bunny Mellon loan exhibit should also be fascinating, as will the lecture “Bunny Beyond the Garden” by Sir Peter Crane and Thomas Lloyd. If you’ve wondered about protecting your investment in fine arts and antiques, or preserving the legacy of family heirlooms, don’t miss “We’re Only Stewards: Preserving, Protecting and Succession of Decorative and Fine Arts” presented by my colleague, J. Max Barger, Corporate Advisory Managing Director, PNC Private Bank Hawthorn, and Michael Smerkanich, East U.S. Regional Leader for Willis Towers Watson Private Client. As you enjoy the weekend’s activities, please keep in mind that proceeds from the Washington Winter Show help three of our region’s best charities — The Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, THEARC, and the Founders Board of St. John’s Community Services. These nonprofits are making a significant difference in the lives of underserved families living in our community. As the presenting sponsor of the show and a company dedicated to strengthening and enriching the lives of those in our region, we are honored to support these charities’ tremendous work. Congratulations to all who have worked to create the 2023 Washington Winter Show, which again promises to be an exceptional event. My team and I look forward to seeing you throughout the weekend.
