Shakudo jewelry consists of a variety of metals including gold, silver, copper and bronze. It originated in Japan and was introduced to the western world in the late 1800s thanks to Commodore Perry who arranged for Japanese decorative arts to be imported to a very eager and interested western market. This amazing chain measures 54" long and 1/16" wide. It has a small bale to hold a drop. This chain dates to the 1880s.
